Private and Nonmedical Transportation
Your ride does not have to be medical. Go to the grocery store, the mall, visit family, attend a gathering, reach the airport, keep an appointment, or choose another destination that matters to you.
Wheelchair and Ambulatory Service
Tell dispatch whether the rider is ambulatory or uses a wheelchair so we can send the appropriate vehicle. Call 253-212-2977 for scheduling, confirmations, ETAs, and active-trip help.
How Wheelchair Transportation Works
US Mobility provides non-emergency transportation for riders using standard and bariatric wheelchairs. The rider travels safely seated in the wheelchair throughout the trip.
Before You Call
Please have the rider’s name, mobility type, pickup location and unit or room, destination address, requested pickup time, contact name and phone number, whether anyone will ride along, and any special instructions ready.
Safe Loading and Securement
Our driver maintains control while loading the wheelchair by accessible lift or ramp. The wheelchair is positioned safely, both wheel stoppers are engaged, four wheelchair securement straps are attached, and the rider receives a lap-and-shoulder restraint before the vehicle moves. If safe securement cannot be achieved, the trip cannot proceed.
Choose the Right Ride Type
Private transportation: Call 253-212-2977 to schedule directly. You may request our current private-pay rate sheet on the Private Transportation page.
Medicaid/Paratransit: The ride must first be arranged or authorized through Paratransit Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Then call US Mobility for scheduling, confirmations, ETAs, active-trip help, or eligible after-hours transportation.
Wheelchair Service Hours
Medicaid/Paratransit wheelchair service: 4:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Wheelchair transportation is not available between 9:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Ambulatory transportation has separate hours.
Important Service Limits
US Mobility does not provide stretcher or stair-chair transportation. For a medical emergency, call 911.
